Greetings to the New Life Nation!
It goes without saying that almost every time you turn on a television, access social media, or listen to the radio, someone or something alludes to the concept of being “Successful.” Theories about being successful and notions regarding how to obtain success, stardom, achievement and elevation of some sort is literally in the atmosphere. From the U.S.A. to the most remote country that you can imagine, “Success” is on the lips of most individuals. But, the question is, “How does the Christian achieve Success?” Certainly there are secular strategies regarding what you need to do. We’ve all heard them. We’ve all attended these “Get Rich Quick” seminars. But, when we finally get wind of the opportunity, our role is only to gain 2-3 people in our “down-line” and then we may gain a few extra dollars, while making the person above us rich! Or we work an extra job to get more money and we find out that the money cost us sleep, time with family, reduction in our time with God and ultimately makes us agitated, irritated and unmotivated to do anything else. You know I’m telling the truth! But, once again, “How does the Christian achieve Success?” As a Christian, we must first understand that God’s best is never “Achieved,” it must be “Received!” We can’t work hard enough or long enough to get what God wants to give us freely. Psalm 75:5-6 lets us know that“Promotion only comes from the Lord!”It does not come from anywhere else. It’s only when God decides to promote that we are elevated. Why? Because God is Sovereign. This means: “God does what He wants to do, when He wants to do it and how He decides to do it!” So, you and I may as well get over ourselves and just wait on the Lord. But, here’s some startling news. The Christian believer’s ultimate goal should not be success. It should be rooted in the desire to be consistently faithful to the application of the WORD of God for our lives. We do this by seeking God first in all that we do. Take a page from Matthew’s gospel when it states, “But, seek ye first the kingdom of God and all of His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you!” (Matt. 6:33)Simply put, we can’t achieve anything. We can only receive what God desires for us to have in His divine timeline. But, it happens after we seek Christ first. There is a great quote that states, “IF YOU ARE PERSISTENT YOU WILL GET IT, BUT WHEN YOU ARE CONSISTENT YOU WILL KEEP IT!So, if you want elevation and promotion on this side, then focus on being consistently faithful in applying kingdom principles. Remember, “God rewards those that diligently seek Him!”(Hebrews 11:6) Now, think on these things….. Yours in Christ, Pastor Ked #thetruthincolor “IMPACTING LIVES FOR THE CAUSE OF CHRIST!”
