FIVE PURPOSES OF THE CHURCH

#1 - Prayer

  Prayer is mentioned throughout the Bible.  It is our way to spend personal time with God.  We should pray daily.  Prayer can go places we cannot.  Scripture reference: 1 Thessalonians 5:17; James 5:16
#4 - Worship

The feeling and/or expression of reverence and adoration to God.  (John 4:23-24)

#2 - Discipleship

One who embraces and assists in spreading the teaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ is a disciple.  A disciple must be Faithful; Available and Teachable.  In order to be faithful, you must have confidence that what you entrust to another person will be in good hands. Also, it is hard to train someone who is not around - that is why availablity is so important. And lastly, it is impossible to teach someone who thinks they know everything.  Just as Jesus modeled, we are not to waste the stewardship of our lives with know it alls.  In Mathew 28:19-20, commonly referred to as The Great Commission,  Jesus said "go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."

#3 - Evangelism

Evangelism is the act of spreading the Gospel by public preaching or personal witness.  Talking to others and sharing the good news about Jesus Christ  (Matthew 28: 19-20) is the purest form of evangelism.
#5 - Stewardship

Giving of your time, talent and treasures.

The 3 T's of Stewardship: Time, Talent and Treasures

Time

WIthout the Bible there is no knowledge of Christ or salvation.  We expect our members to take the time to read, study, meditate and memorize scriptures (2 Timothy 2:15).  As a part of this, we encourage all members to attend the Sunday School of Learning and IHOP (Impact Hour of Power) Bible Study in an effort to stabilze their biblical foundation. 
Talent

God has called all of us into His service as soldiers of Jesus Christ.  In that, he has given all of us natural and spiritual gifts and talents by which to serve Him and His church.  (1 Corinthians 12:4-7)

Each person joining the New Life Bible Fellowship Church is requested to take a "Spiritual Gifts Test."

Treasures in the form of Tithes and Offering

Giving is a form of worship.  Giving to God acknowledges Him as Maker of all, Giver of All and worthy of our BEST.
We encourage and expect our members, by faith and love to give to God your time, talents and tithes. (Malachi 3:10; Ephsians 4:16).  You are expected to be consistent and faithful in support of our Pastor with prayers, encouragement and financially. (1 Timothy 5:17-18; 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13). And finally, we must support the ministries of the Church financially.
