Church History
The vision for the New Life Bible Fellowship Church took place approximately 4 years ago when Reverend Kedric L. McKnight was serving as Pastor for the New Mt. Calvary Baptist Church located in West Dallas. Although the vision was given to him, Pastor McKnight was patient in his steps and waited for guidance and direction from the Holy Spirit. After his departure from the New Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Pastor McKnight’s obedience and journey took him to the Berea Baptist Church, located in Forest Hill,, TX. After much prayer, Pastor McKnight was led by God’s divine Spirit to depart Berea Baptist Church after a short tenure of pastoral service.
In June 2014, Pastor McKnight was guided by the Holy Spirit to visit the Grand Prairie Chamber of Commerce wherein he encountered the President of the Chamber, Lynn McGinley. She informed him that she too had been led to “offer” the use of the chamber building for God’s teaching. It was at that time that Pastor McKnight began conducting Bible Study classes.
Each week as word spread about the classes and the teaching by Pastor McKnight, the classes continued to grow. As a result, Pastor McKnight entered into negotiations with the Chamber to utilize the building to conduct Church Service. On Sunday, September 14, 2014, the New Life Bible Fellowship Church held its Inaugural Worship Service.
The Inaugural Worship Service was attended by more than 125 people and on its first Sunday, a record number of 21 people joined the church.
In January 2015, God blessed the New Life Bible Fellowship Church to sign a lease agreement on a church building located at 2202 San Antonio Street, Grand Prairie, TX. The building underwent major renovations beginning in February, 2015. With a capacity crowd in attendance, we, held our first service at the new location on Palm Sunday, March 29, 2015. In the first 7 months, under the visionary leadership of Pastor McKnight and a cadre of leaders, our church has been blessed to initiate 12 ministries, acquire a church van, implement improved technological enhancements, establish an influential social media presence and establish a vision team comprised largely of lay members and church officers to assist in furthering the visionary movement of our church.
